1. Data Controller

2. Data We Collect

Data provided voluntarily:

• Name, email address, phone number (optional) — provided via the contact form
• Installation type, system size, property type and message — provided in the contact form

Data collected automatically:

• IP address, browser type, operating system — in server logs
• Site usage data — through cookies (see section 6)

3. Purpose of Processing

• To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b))
• To forward the enquiry to installers that match the project (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), with user consent). We do not currently pass contact form details to any installer. If we start doing so, it will happen only on the consent ticked on the form, and this page will say so.
• To ensure the proper functioning of the website (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest of the controller)

When you submit the form we store the time you gave consent and the version of the wording you accepted, so that a later change to the wording does not alter what you agreed to. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to the address in section 1.

4. Data Sharing

Personal data may be shared with:

• Renewable energy installers — only to the extent necessary to handle your enquiry
• IT service providers — hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase) — under data processing agreements

Your data is not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

Contact form data is retained for the period necessary to handle your enquiry, no longer than 12 months from the date of submission. Server logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

6. Cookies

The site uses only cookies necessary for its proper functioning. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Rectify your data
• Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
• Restrict processing
• Data portability
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)

8. Business Data

The website presents publicly available information about renewable energy installers (business name, address, services) obtained from public sources, including Companies House and company websites. This data is processed on the basis of the controller’s legitimate interest (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) for the maintenance of an informational directory.

Businesses whose data appears on the site may request updates or removal by contacting contact@findmyinstaller.co.uk.

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. The current version will always be available on this page.
