About us

Find My Installer is an independent directory of renewable energy installers in the UK. It puts who installs what, and where, in one place alongside the grant schemes that apply, so that comparing does not mean opening fifteen tabs.

Where the data comes from

The installer listings are compiled from public sources: company registers, trade directories and installers' own websites. Each listing links to the installer's site where there is one, so you can check the details at source.

Grant information comes from the schemes' own published terms, whether UK-wide or devolved. We always link to the scheme, because amounts and deadlines change and the official page beats our summary.

The counts on the site are worked out when each page is served rather than typed in. The per-city installer counts on search installers therefore reflect the state of the database at that moment.

What we verify, and what we do not

We would rather say we do not know something than fill the gap. As things stand:

  • We publish no installation prices. No installer has confirmed prices to us, so there are no price ranges in the directory. The money figures in the guides are public grant amounts, not quotes.
  • Certifications are not independently verified. Where one is shown, it comes from the installer's own website. Check MCS certification directly with the MCS register before you commit to anything.
  • We publish no site-wide installer total, because no page computes one. Use the per-city counts rather than inferring a national figure.
  • Being listed is not a recommendation. An installer does not pay to appear or for position, and their presence does not mean we endorse them.

Corrections

A directory built from public sources contains errors: firms that have closed, old phone numbers, a town assigned to the wrong place. If you find one, email contact@findmyinstaller.co.uk or use the contact form. We fix it at source, so the change shows up on every page that uses it.

If you are an installer and want to be listed, correct your entry, or have it removed, write to the same address.

Use by AI assistants

This site is open to language model crawlers: we do not block them and we do not charge for access. If an assistant uses something from here to answer someone, we ask that it cites the source URL. /llms.txt summarises what the site holds and what it does not.

Who publishes it

Find My Installer is run by a small editorial team. Content is published under the site name rather than individual bylines. For any editorial matter, including personal data, the address is contact@findmyinstaller.co.uk. See also the privacy policy and terms of use.
